Grab Your Reader From The Eyeballs With Your First Paragraph!

Is the first paragraph of your article really importing? Well think about it, when you find something to read and if the first paragraph doesn’t really intrigue you, will you keep on reading? Erm, No?!

The first paragraph is a great opportunity to make the readers stay glued to your article. Make them get involved in your content by providing a gist of what is in the body of the article.

The first paragraph should create a problem and the condition that affects people due to it. It should portray the problem and how serious it is. The main thing should be the conflict that arises due to the problem and the impossibilities of solving the problem that needs an escape. It should bring out the need to find a solution and that is found and explained in the article. Mostly, to solve a problem needs skill and tolerance that is elucidated in the body of the article.

Many writers start writing the article, thinking that the readers would know something and begin with the main content. Background information is very important to start an article. Get as much information about the content and provide the content in an easy to understand way to the reader.

Do not impart with all the information you know in the beginning right away. Many writers spend time in providing solution to problems instead of first stating what the problem is. Since this works in an online media network, you need to first specify the problem, as there are readers from all over the world.

This adds value to the article content. If you really have something informative and interesting in the content, then make the first few lines interesting so that it captivates the reader. Make it necessary for the reader to read all the content. This is actually hooking the reader and making the content obligatory for them to read.

Do not bore the reader with the main content in the beginning itself. This can let them lose readers. Take them through the content, explaining things and resolving problems. The start of the article lets the reader know about what the writer is going to deal with in the rest of the article. This gives them an initial idea about the content and shapes them as they continue to read the article.

Take time to write the first paragraph and write a 2 or 3 in a different style. Take a break from it and look at it after some time and read them out aloud to yourself making the best one that makes sense and intrigues you the one that you use. This will help you match with the reader’s mind. Do not hesitate to spend time in writing the first few lines of the article. Know the facts and the art of writing and get it right before starting to write an article. Make your first paragraph count for new things. It should reveal something and a hint of what is in the content. Finally, write something that will grip the readers.

Watch Perry Belcher give an excellent video on his view on Headline writing. The reason why I put this video in is because this guy really knows what he is talking about, and has some GREAT points!

A creative and catchy phrase makes a perfect headline. It’s what you write artistically about the content in one simple attractive phrase. You need to create your own ideal heading to make it interesting for your readers. For this, you have to comprehend the dexterity of creating a title that would ignite an impulsive attention to read your article.

The main ingredient of any article is its headline. This is the part, which connects you with your readers. You need to know the psychology of creating a title that grips the reader’s attention and make them read the content.

To make your heading special, you have to make your article content interesting. Write articles on topics that are of value to the readers. Readability is the important element in article writing. Make the article easy to read like separating into paragraphs, highlighting, making bulleted points or if your title implies so many “ways to improve” things, then make a numbered list, so that it makes your article readable and easy to digest.

There are thousands of headlines available on the internet so why not start making a list of all the ones that stop you in your tracks and makes you want to read the article. When you have a list of these go through them and apply the right one that fits your article best.

Headlines are very important because readers scan the title, deciding whether to read the content or not. This is the only prospect to great opportunity, so you have to make it work for you. You may have an article that has unique ideas in its content, but if you have not provided a suitable catchy name then your readers might turn to other people’s articles instead of yours.

You may wonder why a title is so important than the content that is very informative, interesting and well written. When a reader browses the internet for particular articles, they first go in for the titles that are very interesting and catchy and click the link. It is title that creates an impression in the minds of the readers. No matter what you have written, it is the title that counts first.

The title grabs the reader’s attention and makes them read the content. If your article does not have a perfect heading, then you have wasted lots of time writing the content. Studies show that eight out of ten readers read the content only if the heading is catchy.

This shows that the article caption should be interesting, compelling, factual, and effective. If the title is appealing, then you can make your website known to the world and get more targeted traffic. If you want your content read, then make the perfect headline.

Generate Traffic & Make Money With Podcasting?!

Podcasting is an online audio substance that is sent via RSS feeds. Many people equate pod casting to radio on demand. However, in reality, it gives more than what a radio is programmed to give. It is a type of online audio delivery.  It is now used for online traffic generation for your website.

Podcasting is now reaching new heights.  Everyone is using podcasts for mass communication today.  This new wave of broadcasting is for iPods, any transportable audio device and even your personal computer.

Podcasts need an initial subscription.  After that content will be delivered routinely without human intervention.  There are many free podcasts available, which are as good as paid content.  Today there are more than 10,000 podcasts in the market.

Organizations’ use podcasts to deliver important messages to their members, educational institutes use it to keep in touch with their students and companies use it to update their staff.

Imagine the potential when business owners send you podcasts for their products.  Another venue for a powerful marketing strategy!  Podcasting come into being because of blogging.  Podcasts can even be known as audio blogs.  After being used to reading ads from emails, e-newsletters, e-magazines and websites, the public find it a refreshing change to listen to information.

You can get into podcasting by recording audio files and saving it in mp3 format.  Then upload it into your website and submit the relevant links to blogs and directories like iTunes.   It you do not own a website, look around for one that allows you to upload podcasts.  Next create RSS feed using www.feedforall.com (automatic but you have to pay for it) or manually at www.rss-specifications.com.   Last step will be to pay for podcasting.  It you have a big file and lots of members then the cost will be equally high.

But do not mind the cost as podcasting can make money for you.  You can generate traffic for your site or even ask your members to donate money to you for your audio you distribute.  You can get advertisers to advertise on your podcast.  If your content is really good you can even get payment for every time it is aired.

Now for some mind blowing news.  Look out for video podcasts or vidcasts.  The video you create has to be in a M4V format. So the horizon is expanding with podcasting.  Make sure you get into the act.

You may have heard the “content is king”, well to be honest, it is sooo true! Writing fresh content is very important for websites and it is the key to bring in more traffic. You need to keep changing the content in order to make your customers keep coming back. Periodically, make your content fresh and new for your customers.

The simple reason why you need your content to be new is because no one likes stale goods.  People prefer the new and latest stuff.  They will visit your site more often to read the latest in the subject.  Your traffic will thereby increase.

Not only that, search engines also love fresh gist.  As you keep updating the content, your website will maintain its high ranking in search results.  Keep refreshing your subject matter at least once a month.

When you rewrite the subject do not keep repeating your keywords all over the page.  This will not only bore the readers but will also turn the search engines against you.  Also formatted keywords incorporated in the matter will stand out in search results.

You are the one who knows your website best, but you may not be too happy with your writing skills. In that case, hire professional technical writers. You will become familiar with what your visitors want based on feedback of the subject, statistics and traffic fluctuations.

Do not make the matter too heavy or formal.  Make the visitors your friends and address them as such making it personal. Readers will then relate to it a lot more.  Use unconventional styles to catch their attention.  Try not to use negative words.  Using words like “amazing”, “advantages” and “profit” will increase reader’s interest, words that are powerful.  Also encourage them to act fast and make full use of the offers in the site by adding hyperlink phrases like “click here now for…” and “click here to find out” in between the paragraphs.

Write short easy to read sentences.  The reader will have a short attention span and you need to catch his interest before he moves away from the page.  End the subject with a catchy phrase or a punch line so the reader will remember reading your article more over others.

When you can write and use fresh content this easily, why not maximize your website’s effectiveness and see the difference.

Keywords are the important words in the content of a webpage, which is used by the users to search through search engines. When the user types a keyword in the search box, the search engines looks for the matching keyword in websites and brings out the desired result. Thus it is very important to websites.

When building or revamping your website you need to choose keywords with care.  This is important in attracting traffic to your site.  More traffic should be translated as more money.

Keywords therefore help in popularizing your site.  It is like a form of advertisement and is very powerful.  Yet, it is one of the cheapest means to put your site on the search engine map.

As soon as you have found the right phrases, you will notice a rise in the amount of traffic to your site.  When advertising agents find that your site gets an unusually large number of hits, they will want to advertise in your site.  So not only your business blossoms but now, you have found a profitable side business too.  If you want to know the truth, many sites are set up with the dream of earning an income solely by displaying ads.

I’m sure you’ve heard about social media by now, you may have even heard that it’s the next big thing. But what is it really all about?

Ice cream makers found this medium a new, cost-effective and easy way to work with customers and in the long run keeps them happy. This created a unique community of ice cream lovers.

Whether you’re a big established company, an individual with limited loyal customers, or someone with ideas and opinions, social media helps you create new opportunities online with free tools such as blogs, podcasts videos, social bookmarking and social networking. The Buzz behind Social Media?!

The only reason for people to outsource is to work less and make more money. Even though you hear a lot of these so called ‘Gurus’ banging on about how they do everything themselves to avoid duplication and create something fresh blah blah blah, well sorry to break the trust and word of gurus but they do outsource some of their work, if not all!

Why do they do this? Well I’m not too sure myself but partly because of the fact that they have made their name and fame and can afford to. However if you new to IM then it would be best to try and do everything yourself to save costs but if you have been in the IM game and have made some profit then it won’t hurt to outsource.

Oh yeah and by the way outsource means, to obtain a good or service from an outside supplier or source, in plain English that means to send out work to an outside provider to save costs and mainly to save yourself from doing it. Why do you think all these big fish gurus in IM are able to maintain several premium businesses… well that’s simple because they outsource.

No matter what you hear outsource can save you from extra work and it can cut costs, notice I’m saying ‘can’ and not will because it depends what kind of work you require from the person you outsource from.

Now if you are interested in getting some of your work outsourced then there are several sites where you can go including Elance.com, Rentacoder.com, Craigslist.com, Guru.com and there are a few more but the ones listed are the main ones.

Elance is the one I like to use, yes I do outsource some of my work as well, it’s got a huge variety of people that deal in nearly every element of IM including SEO, web design, PHP, graphic design, and more or less everything. One of the things I love about using Elance is the security of your money when paying through an escrow account. Escrow is, say for example you’re willing to pay $100 for some outsource work to be done then you send that $100 to Elance, they then take that off your credit card or PayPal account and hold that money in an escrow account for you. Once your provider has done the work and you are satisfied with the work then you’ll be able to release the escrow money and then Elance will pay your provider. It’s great protection for you and your provider.

Guru and Craigslist are similar to Elance and RentACoder is more for like software coders, copywriters and that kind of thing.

The Truth Behind Outsourcing

First of all, what is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. If you’re new to this don’t be put off by the technical words as all it means is your website being accessible to the search engines to improve the chances that search engines will serve your site when your potential customers type in a specific search term.

SEO focuses strongly on inflating rankings in the search engines through cost-effective techniques. To be honest you could pay for tools such as SEO Elite but realistically you do not need this over-rated tool, what you do need is fresh content that is highly RELEVANT! Yes this isn’t a typing error, search engines search for fresh quality content that is relevant.

Fresh, quality content?!

The reason for fresh content is because search engines are always looking for relevant content in order for them to separate it from the garbage. Garbage is highly IRRELEVANT content stuffed with repeated keywords being over-used in the hope to get seen by search engines. Quality is what will leave you there for years to come, even if your site goes down, your quality content will make its mark on the internet.

So coming back to the main question, is SEO really important?

Well, I’m sure you have figured out that by now that SEO is important.

Also have you heard about the power of Backlinks?

About 3 months ago before I shut one of my websites down, I had a go at building backlinks to see how effective they really were. My PR (PageRank) at the time was 3 and I exchanged a backlink with a site that was similar to mine, it was really well established and had a PR5. After a few weeks, I checked my Google Analytics and realised that my traffic had increased more than average and to my surprise my PR increased to 4.

Contrary to this, I wanted to see what will happen if I had a backlink to a site that had a low PR. So I found a site that had a PR1, even though I was reluctant to do so the site was little relevant to mine and didn’t have much information that was useful hence the low PR. So I gave it about a week and checked up on Google Analytics, I saw that the website was giving me little traffic and so I then checked my PR which had come down to 2!!

I was shocked that a site with PR1 will have such a huge effect on my site, after that I learned from my mistake and since then I have never exchanged a backlink with a site with a low PR.

How To Maintain A Relationship With Your Mailing List

If your list is small then there is no need to worry because you can still make money online. The most important thing to remember is that you have to establish a connection or even better a relationship with the people on your list, and to write to them as personal and conversational as you would do talking to your close mates. Getting someone to join your list is not that difficult, but its not necessarily easy either. However to overcome and be at an advantage point you may want to offer something for free, people love free things and don’t want to miss out on anything being handed out for free and are going to be more likely to join your list. Even though they have that free course or software, what is keeping them from unsubscribing from your list?

The answer is to keep your list interested by continually supplying them with special offers. You should be emailing your prospects at least once per week, and your customers at least once every two weeks. When you email your prospects, give them something of value for free, and then give them a special offer only available to list members, making your offer exclusive to them this will definitely win them over.

I also like to write a short report and give them to my list as a gift. These reports contain lots of useful information from how to start an empire online to useful websites where they can benefit from in many ways. The best thing about this is that I create a trust between my list and myself so over time, readers of these reports will purchase products and courses that I have recommend. On a side note, make sure you do not HARD sell where this will only make people in your list unsubscribe.

I have noticed that a lot of people wait until they have a specific number of people on their list before they start marketing their list and make money from them. Why on Earth would you want to wait to make money, all you need to do is become a good marketer, treat your subscribers how you would want to be treated, and you will profit from the very start of your relationship.

The number one reason for many people unsubscribing from mailing lists is because they are not actively participating and receiving value for being a member. Due to this they will unsubscribe from your list as soon as they have had enough of you without purchasing anything.

Before I finish there is one more list building tip for you and that is to offer your customers good information that is valuable to them every time you send them an email, you have to give them what they want and not what you think they want. Then at the end of your email, you can offer them an exclusive buy it now price on a product that will further help them solve the problem you addressed in your informative email. Even if the list member doesn’t buy, they are more likely to stay on your list because of the information they receive, the exclusive discount prices and the relationship you have maintained with them.
