Posted : 22 Jul 2009 Who in the hell is Bing? The latest and best from Microsoft!
Make way for the newly launched Bing Search engine. Bing is a new, high-level and sophisticated search engine launched by Microsoft that helps the user make decisions astutely and easily. It is otherwise called a “decision engine.” Bing is more than a search engine and it does so many things than any other engine. It focuses mainly on shopping, travel, health and local kinds.
One of the interesting features found is the video search. When you take the mouse-over a small bit of the video, the video is immediately played to give you an idea of the content. This feature is not only fun to use but also very informative. It saves a lot of time too.
The web searches are equally good. It comes up with very appropriate content. The cached page comes up with relevant content of the respective page on roll over. This feature gives a good preview of the content.
A very attractive thing in Bing is the “show similar image” function in the image search. Each and every image displayed has that feature. Also one does not need to go to the next page of the results. All you have to do is scroll down and more results appear. Another remarkable but not important feature is the background image in the home page. It is changed regularly and gives interesting points on rollover.
Bing search engine has done its best to oust competitors like Google. It has Google’s best feature plus a few more of its own. However, Google has made itself into a household name and is very user friendly. People might use Bing only after they have searched in Google or Yahoo. That is because Google has made simplicity its keyword.
This new engine works by organizing your search results. The results are surprisingly good, in fact it is better than most. However, when you input the same keyword in Google, the results though pertinent, are different from Bing’s. However, this is good news for users as it means more information is available to them. Many website construction companies are learning the strategies that this one uses for its searches. They are now incorporating it for SEO. After all Microsoft is a name to be reckoned with.
To make it more popular Bing also offers Pay Per Click (PPC) options. More over its users are increasing largely due to its relevancy in searches. And where money is concerned Microsoft has the best options available. It has a money back scheme if you buy from certain websites they bring up on a search. So you can shop and at the same time, save money thanks to Bing. This might well pull people towards it for their online shopping.
This makes Bing Search engine more than a match for Google once people get used to it. It is here to stay and give Google and other competitors a run for their money. And it looks good too!
